Thing A Day #6- Crayola Tower

Crayola Organized
While shopping at Target yesterday, I bribed my two year old daughter with a Crayola Tower.  The deal was as long as she didn't whine and cry, the Tower stayed in the cart.  She's very willful and yes, we became the proud owners of a large quantity of crayons (which we already had at home, just in a much less orderly state).  In the last 24 hours the tower became an instant hit and the girls followed my single directive- take care of them and put them back where they belong.  So far, so good.
Now the only qualm I have with this tower is the way it is organized in the package.  Crayola sells it with all different colors next to each other.  There is no rhyme or reason to how the colors are placed and I feel that it does the user a disservice.  It is much easier and saves a lot of time when the colors are in order.  Therefore I reorganized the tower and am giving the shout out to Crayola that this is how their tower should be organized in the package.  I'm more than happy to consult with them on it.  This first one's free;)
The thing I LOVE about this tower is the sharpener that comes with it.  When I was young the Crayola sharpeners just made the end into a cone.  This Crayola sharpener makes the tip look EXACTLY like a new crayon.  It's fabulous.
Thing a Day# 6= Color Order=Zen State (My Virgo moon needs organizational activities in my life.)

I always had to rearrange my crayons when I was little..Of course the most you could get in the Stone Age was the Awesome 48 Box...Boy you really became popular with the other kids in the neighborhood if you had one of those...And Crayons didn't come with sharpeners then we used our school pencil shapeners..Made for funny looking pencils...:)

The question is: How long did your colour organized Tower last with the girls? :)
and no fair, I never had a crayon sharpener either - didn't know they existed.

So, sorry to ask, so picture #1 was your re-organization? and PIcture #2 was Crayola's?

Pixie, I also think you should consider a photo exhibition. I find your pix jar-dropping *it never fails, you also get me no matter how many times I look at them* and so colorful.

I want to be the first in line when you do so.

like the idea of a tower but it wouldnt last 5 mins in our house with my 3 sons..we have a huge box of crayons, pens, pencils etc..creative chaos

hahaha, I like creative chaos!! You did a great job with the color scheme. I myself, use bins. Bins for everything. One for chunky crayons, one for colored pencils, one for regular crayons, one for stickers, etc. I strive for organization, but almost always fall far short.

Thanks for the heads up on this, seriously. I LOVE crayons and after seeing the carnage my daughter has wreaked on our current box, I just may sneak off and buy my own . . . and I think I deserve a tower. Yep, I think so.

I'm with ya on how to organize it, too. I'm sure Crayola will (not) be all over that, though. ;)
